Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to bring a room together, keep the secrets private and get the argument started.

What is Hidden Agendas?

Hidden Agendas is a social party game built around a shared question. Everyone votes privately, sees the anonymous result, receives a different secret objective and tries to influence the final vote without being identified.

How does a round work?

Vote honestly, see how the room voted, read your private agenda, discuss the question, vote again, identify another player’s possible agenda, then reveal the result and score.

Can I complete an agenda just by changing my own vote?

Agendas that ask you to gain or lose support among other players exclude your own vote. Getting someone to change their answer means another player, not you. A switch-together objective needs you and another player to change to the same winning option. Other objectives, such as creating a tie, are still judged on the whole room’s result. Share reasons, listen and look for common ground; the game does not record or judge who spoke.

How many people can play?

A room supports 3–20 players. A group of 5–8 is a good place to start because it creates enough competing motives while keeping the discussion easy to follow.

How long does a game take?

A standard six-round game takes roughly 30 minutes. Hosts can choose the number of rounds and adjust the discussion time.

Does everyone need a phone?

Yes. Each player uses their own phone or compatible browser device so votes, agendas and suspicions stay private.

Do I need to download anything or create an account?

No. Hidden Agendas runs in a modern web browser. One person creates a room and everyone else joins using its link or six-character code.

Can we play remotely?

Yes. Hidden Agendas works in person or alongside an existing voice or video call. Everyone needs to hear the same discussion and use a separate browser device.

What happens if I refresh or lose connection?

Reopen the room on the same device and browser. A private session token stored on that device should restore your place after a refresh or brief disconnection.

Are my vote and agenda private?

During play, each player sees only the private information intended for them. Anonymous totals are shared with the room, and agendas and suspicions are revealed only at the appropriate stage.

Does Hidden Agendas record our conversation?

No. The game does not request camera or microphone access and does not record the conversation happening between players.

Where can it be played?

The web game can be used from supported countries wherever players have a reliable internet connection. It currently uses international English; additional languages may follow based on demand.

Is it free?

The current validation version is free to play. If paid features are introduced later, their price and conditions will be shown clearly before purchase.

What age is it suitable for?

The launch question catalogue is designed to avoid explicit adult content, politics, religion and forced personal disclosure. The online service is general-audience and is not directed to children under 13; local age and parental-consent rules still apply.
